UX/UI, branding

project overview

I was approached in September of 2022 by Tara of STJ Acres to help them with refurbishing their website. Over the following two years, I have worked continuously with Tara to rejuvenate their branding and relaunching their website for the spring of 2023, and again updating their website for the spring of 2024.

the finished website

I wanted the new and improved website to be clean, modern, and cohesive, with a lot of negative space and imagery to show off the beauty of Tara’s horses, as well as her passion and devotion to her farm. Most importantly, I wanted to establish a strong system to list off each horse’s registered name, their parents, birth year as well as any genetics or other information Tara would want included. That way, the user can get as much information about each and every horse without getting overwhelmed.

The first year working on the site was spent developing the system, while the second was spent further tuning it to Tara’s vision, and fleshing out more of the details.

Screens selected from the mare’s page. This showcases the system I came up with for labelling each horse.

The new and improved page for the stallions.

This year, Tara wanted to add some more detailed information about her two stallions, to tap into whether other breeders are interested in her two boys.

She provided more photos, as well as details on their pedigree, registration and a write up to include.

And finally, the foals.
