project overview

This was a project from the semester of fall 2022. In this project, students were assigned companies and a prompt to research in teams, before creating a landing page and sign-up form on our own. For this project, I was given the company Adobe to work with, and with my team member, we created a hypothetical convention (Illustrators Pro) that the company was putting on in Edmonton, Alberta.

This project has been broken down into outlining my research process, and how this informed the creation of user flows into wireframes and then into the final design of the micro-site.

the research process

research

The group research portion of this project consisted of outlining goals; goals for both the landing site and the convention itself; defining success metrics for our goals, stakeholder questions, competitor analysis, user research and user personas.

goals

  1. Getting volunteers to register for the conference through the landing site

  2. Increase the amount of Adobe Creative Cloud subscription sign ups through the use of demos, workshops, and hands on learning opportunities

  3. Connecting Edmonton industry professionals with each other, but also with newcomers to the illustration industry in Edmonton

kpis

  1. 600 local volunteers signed up to work across the entire conference weekend.

  2. The number of attendees who downloaded at least one Adobe application increased by 20%; the number of attendees who downloaded the entire Creative Cloud suite increased by 15%.

  3. Customer satisfaction with Adobe and Adobe applications increased among attendees by 30%

user personas

Since the main goal of our landing site is to encourage people to volunteer for Adobe Illustrators Pro, the primary user group we were focusing on was potential volunteers, with the secondary user group being those interested in tickets. The primary user group was broken down into two types of volunteers: those who are interested in volunteering because of their own familiarity with Adobe, graphic design, or illustration, and those who would not be.

wireframing

While wireframing, I was careful to perform an analysis of the design motifs of Adobe’s main website, as well as their website for Adobe MAX; both so I could honour Adobe’s design style to the best of my ability, as well as make sure I was not copying their pre-existing design for Adobe MAX.
